Illustrations for Hans Christian Andersen's story "Little Ida's flowers" - ongoing illustrated book project
I'm always fascinated when I encounter a gentleness in the way light and shadow interact in the real world, so naturally, I longed to create a world of my own where this relationship dictates the atmosphere entirely.
I chose to work with the story of little Ida and her wilting flowers because of its ethereal nature, I found it to be amongst the most beautiful, yet often neglected Andersen tales which miraculously fit my concept of using photographic experiments accentuated by the soft interference of a drawer's hand.
